Unfurled

Finally, this blog would not have closure without reference to “the fiddlehead” that I have alluded to throughout my blogging. The fiddlehead is now unfurled (above left)to represent an emergence of new ideas and experiences (from this course) for us to implement and draw upon as emerging teachers. We should also seek to unfurl the creative sprits represented by the numerous little fiddleheads (right) in our classrooms. Take care,

Wow Matt, this blog so reflects your personality: calm, diverse, introspective and naturally beautiful....hows that for a compliment? I entirely agree that creativity can be defined in so many different ways from outside the visual and performing arts. Our world is surround by visuals and each every human relationship is a "performance" - a sharing of thoughts through speech, emotion and body. Our creativity is what make us human and humane. It takes creativity to critically think, and to see opposing viewpoints and to find the middle ground. We do need more creativity in our world to truly understand and value everyone's gifts.

Matthew, your blog is itself a work of art. I have now reviewed each post and although I wanted to respond to each of them, I need to keep moving to have grades submitted soon. (I may linger and comment a bit more afterward!). The fiddlehead theme is a thread that weaves the value of growth and learning throughout your life. It gave continuity to your portfolio...as well as visual beauty. Thanks for engaging so fully in this part of the course, and for making your learning accessible to your classmates!
